JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Transportation ManagerFLSA: Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Mountain Operations SUMMARY: The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort's transportation services, including fleet operations, staff management, and guest transportation needs. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations by managing vehicle maintenance, shuttle services, parking, and coordinating with various departments. The position requires exceptional leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak seasons. PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIESShuttle Fleet Operations & Maintenance: Oversee the operation and maintenance of all resort shuttle vehicles, including buses, vans and other required vehicles. Ensure vehicles are regularly inspected, clean, and in optimal working condition. Coordinate repairs and build relationships with external vendors for any replacements as needed. Staff Management: Manage and train transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and parking attendants. Handle scheduling, performance evaluations, and resolve any staffing issues. Ensure staff compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Budget & Financial Oversight: Participate in budget development, monitor expenses, and ensure transportation services are provided efficiently within budget constraints. Track financial performance and adjust resources as necessary to meet operational goals. Payroll Management: Oversee and manage payroll for the transportation team. Ensure accurate time tracking and timely submission of payroll to the finance department. Client Quotes: Create accurate transportation service quotes for clients, including group transport and special event services. Ensure quotes align with budgetary constraints and client needs. Guest Transportation Services: Coordinate and manage guest transportation, including shuttle services for airport transfers, group tours, and event needs. Ensure smooth operation during high-traffic periods like holidays and special events. Transportation Logs: Create and maintain detailed transportation logs to track guest pickups, drop-offs, and overall transportation usage. Ensure logs are accurate and up-to-date for internal auditing and operational efficiency. Collaborate with drivers to gather real-time data and monitor performance metrics to ensure timely service. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with state and federal transportation regulations. Conduct regular safety audits, maintain driver logs, and respond to any accidents or emergencies. Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with other departments like Sales, Marketing, Events and HR to meet transportation demands at the resort. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsements is highly recommended; must hold a valid license with a clean driving record. 2 years of leadership experience in transportation management is recommended. Experience with vehicle maintenance and safety inspections. Strong leadership and multitasking abilities. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Proficiency in logistics and fleet management software is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and move for extended periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
