Learn more at Axia Women's Health is seeking a per-diem Laborist to support its Ob-Gyn practice in Indianapolis. Affiliated Hospital: Franciscan Health Indianapolis LEVEL III NICU 24/7 Anesthesia covering L&D MFM, Neonatologists & Advanced Neonatal Practitioners Position Summary: The Laborist provides comprehensive care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and manages gynecological emergencies. Provide obstetric and gynecological care to patients during shifts. Conduct prenatal assessments, including routine check-ups and screenings, to monitor the health of pregnant women and their babies. Attend deliveries and assist in the management of labor and childbirth, including performing cesarean sections and other surgical interventions as needed. Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies such as preterm labor, preeclampsia, and fetal distress. Assess and treat gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, and reproductive tract infections. Perform surgical procedures related to obstetrics and gynecology, such as hysterectomies, tubal ligations, and diagnostic laparoscopies. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, neonatologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients. Document patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records. Stay up-to-date with advances in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing medical education and professional development activities. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent. Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. Board certification or Board eligibility in obstetrics and gynecology. Active Indiana Medical license and DEA, or ability to obtain. Demonstrated clinical competence in obstetric and gynecological care, including surgical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Ability to work independently and make quick, evidence-based decisions in high-pressure situations. Willingness to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, including weekends and holidays. Benefits: Group-paid Medical Malpractice Insurance Pay or shift range: $225 USD and $270 USD holidays per hour. This range is the budgeted amount for this position.
