This is a legal leadership position that ensures discipline, consistency, and legal excellence at scale. Our clients trust us with their safety, their families, and their futures, and we take that responsibility seriously. You will own legal standards across the firm, from intake strategy at sign-up through case completion, ensuring that legal work is consistent, defensible, supervised correctly, and aligned with ethical obligations. We are looking for an experienced legal leader who has already run teams inside a law firm environment and can step into ownership immediately. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Legal Supervision & Authority - This role requires decisiveness and comfort exercising authority. Supervise 10+ attorneys across multiple immigration practice areas Establish and enforce firm-wide legal quality standards Standardize templates, argument structures, and review protocols Define supervision requirements and escalation thresholds Intervene when case strategy requires correction Conduct structured legal performance and quality reviews Ethics & Risk Governance - This role protects the license and the integrity of the practice. Serve as lead authority on bar complaints and professional responsibility matters Design preventive supervision systems that reduce exposure Audit case documentation for compliance and defensibility Create documentation standards that withstand scrutiny Establish red-flag triggers for elevated review RFE Pattern Analysis & Proactive Strategy At our filing volume, reactive lawyering is insufficient. The objective is anticipatory legal leadership You will: Track and analyze RFE trends across case types Identify systemic drafting or evidentiary weaknesses Develop preemptive strategy updates and playbooks Lead structured legal review sessions Partner with Legal Operations to implement system improvements Intake Strategy Oversight Supervise the legal integrity of the intake process to ensure cases are signed with the correct legal strategy, expectations, and risk assessment Define intake standards and required case information Review and audit escalated intake cases for strategy or information gaps Correct patterns that lead to downstream legal or client issues Legal Performance Ownership Define legal performance standards in partnership with Operations and own enforcement within the legal team Set legal performance expectations for attorneys and paralegals Conduct performance reviews, manage underperformance, and make promotion, correction, and exit recommendations for legal roles Senior Client Escalation Conduct high-level conversations with concerned or dissatisfied clients when legal authority is required Provide clear, disciplined explanations of strategy and risk Own the legal decision layer of refund eligibility, including reviewing disputed or high-risk cases and ensuring consistency and documentation Make principled decisions regarding case posture and resolution in collaboration with leadership COMPETENCIES Legal Authority: Establishes and enforces what "good legal work" looks like across the firm Strategic Leader: Builds scalable supervision structures that maintain quality at high volume Ethically Grounded: Serves as the final authority on professional responsibility and bar compliance Team Builder: Creates healthy, accountable legal team environments with clear expectations Systems Thinker: Designs intake, supervision, and performance systems - not just reacts to problems REQUIREMENTS Active U.S. law license in good standing At least 3 years of experience managing a law firm or entire legal department Significant immigration law experience across Removal Defense, Humanitarian (T Visa, U Visa, VAWA), Family-based, Employment-based, and/or Consular matters Demonstrated experience supervising attorneys in a law firm environment and implementing strategic change Direct experience handling bar complaints or professional responsibility compliance Experience operating within high-volume legal settings Process-oriented, systems-minded, and decisive Comfortable integrating with operations without compromising ethics Six Sigma or other operations certifications a plus Preferred: Business immigration exposure Spanish/English bilingual strongly preferred Experience designing intake quality systems COMPENSATION: $165,000 (Base) - Total $180,000 BENEFITS: 3 weeks of PTO and paid holidays Healthcare options Professional development support At New Frontier Immigration Law, this isn't just legal management.
