Compensation Analyst II The Analyst II Compensation plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing compensation programs that create an unrivaled workplace where talent is recognized and rewarded as our organization grows. Associate Responsibilities Serves as a strategic partner to the Sr. Manager, Global Compensation, leading and contributing to complex initiatives across executive compensation, base pay, sales compensation, and incentive and reward programs. Independently leads end-to-end compensation project work, including program and plan design, needs and gap analysis, structure and scenario modeling, cost and impact analysis, planning, implementation, policy review, and compensation systems enhancement with a focus on scalability, effectiveness, and cost management. Acts as a trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Payroll, Legal, HR Business Partners, HRIS, IT), providing expert guidance in the development, review, governance, and communication of compensation programs and initiatives. Ensures compensation programs and practices comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements across local, national, and international markets in which Carhartt operates; proactively identifies compliance risks and recommends mitigation strategies. Owns and leads the annual merit and incentive cycle, including salary budget survey participation and analysis, merit and incentive modeling, budget recommendations, annual administration, and leadership and business communications. Partners closely with HR Business Partners and Performance Management to deliver a seamless, integrated performance management and merit/incentive process. Leads compensation survey strategy, participation, and advanced market analysis to ensure competitive positioning and informed decision-making. Designs, develops, and maintains compensation structures (e.g., pay grades, job bands, incentive levels) based on comprehensive market data, internal equity considerations, and evolving business needs. Conducts complex ad hoc and annual internal equity and competitiveness audits; interprets findings, develops recommendations, and assesses financial impact to support data-driven decisions. Resolves complex compensation issues using a consultative, solutions-oriented approach; applies advanced analytical skills and sound judgment while collaborating across functions, levels, and geographies. Reviews and evaluates new and revised job profiles and organizational designs to determine appropriate classification and compensation; provides expert recommendations to ensure internal alignment and external market competitiveness. Produces high-quality, executive-ready analyses, reports, summaries, and recommendations that clearly articulate insights, risks, and proposed actions. Partners with HRIS, IT, and Payroll to implement, automate, and continuously improve compensation systems and tools, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and user experience. Develops and maintains compensation procedures, governance documentation, and training materials to support process consistency, scalability, and regulatory compliance. Collaborates with HR Operations to design and execute communication and change-management strategies, including training and leader enablement, ensuring successful implementation, transparency, and understanding of compensation programs and initiatives. Required Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent years of related work experience required. Certification of SPHR, PHR, CCP or related designation a plus. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of human resources experience required inclusive of 5 years in compensation analysis, design and/or administration of compensation programs and related HRIS systems experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including obtaining, verifying, and evaluating general and statistical information. Proven ability to interpret and explain compensation data. Advanced skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems required. Experience with HRIS systems automation, setup, and ongoing maintenance highly preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with diverse teams effectively. Ability to work through others to get tasks accomplished. Shows initiative and desire to initiate and resolve challenges. Actively seeks out and utilizes information to improve knowledge and problem solving. Experience working with highly confidential information and exercising tact and discretion. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and partners. Ability to summarize and present information to non-technical users effectively. Knowledge of relevant labor laws effecting compensation and data management with ability to consistently research and apply concepts, laws, methods, techniques, approaches, and other guidelines legally and effectively. International compensation experience is a plus. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required. Light lifting may be required. 25 LBS National travel required up to 10%. This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site.
