Position Summary The Vice President of Business Development position offers the opportunity for candidates to directly contribute to the growth of one of the nation's leading strategic healthcare consulting and healthcare real estate development firms. The Vice President of Business Development will be challenged to become well versed and conversant in all aspects of the business in an environment where their responsibilities are focused on business development and client relationship management. The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for managing regional marketing efforts within their assigned territory including developing comprehensive knowledge of regional market dynamics and prospective clients, increasing awareness of Company services with prospective clients, and securing additional client engagements for the Company. The Vice President of Business Development's marketing efforts include initiating and conducting meetings with senior management personnel of regional and local healthcare systems, as well as developing proposals and making formal presentations to senior hospital executives and board members. The Vice President of Business Development will also be responsible for maintaining long-term client relationships and for identifying opportunities for additional engagements within our base of existing and former clients. Principal Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Assist management in growing the Company's business through direct involvement in business development and relationship management. Develop a comprehensive Territory Management Plan which includes Territory and Account Summary, Situational Assessment, Market Strategy and Priorities, Salesforce revenue forecasts and Developmental Observations. Demonstrate significant self-initiative in learning all aspects of the business. Develop strong professional marketing and healthcare consulting skills. Develop an understanding of the strategic issues facing healthcare providers and the Company's ability to provide market-based solutions. Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the Company's service offering and become an effective and professional representative of the firm, our services and our work. Performs other duties as assigned. Marketing Responsibilities: Initiate and coordinate all regional marketing activity. Create and implement a business development campaign for a specific territory, including calls, meetings, client visits, presentations and proposals. Research and become fluent in the assigned healthcare market, its activity, prospective clients and forthcoming opportunities. Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate and prioritize market opportunities and specific tactics to achieve revenue goals. Conduct "peer to peer" conversations with the C-Suite executives. Schedule and attend meetings to introduce the Company to prospective clients at the C-Suite level. Lead process and prepare responses to Requests for Proposal which address the financial and organizational objectives of prospective clients. Develop and lead in formal presentations for prospective client and as part of client relationship management. Perform all appropriate meeting and formal interview/ presentation follow-up activities (including internal project team coordination and external follow up). Develop understanding of legislative issues that affect healthcare, including local state issues that impact the delivery of healthcare. Participate in state and local healthcare association activities, as appropriate. Maintain strong long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional engagements with the Company's base of existing and former clients. Client Relationship Management Responsibilities: Maintain an ongoing and active relationship with clients throughout the duration of project delivery activities Develop and maintain strong relationship with internal Service Line interaction Track project delivery performance through meetings with the Company's project delivery team and through consistent meetings with various client representatives to ensure accurate performance feedback on a timely basis Take a leadership role in securing performance feedback and identifying opportunities for additional assignments with existing and former clients Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully. A bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred. A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in business development, consulting, healthcare operations, real estate, or a related field is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, including strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal healthcare clients and maintain successful relationships. Proven ability to work collaboratively with various professionals in pursuing new client opportunities. Strong ability to multitask, work independently and manage all aspects of the business development process effectively and efficiently.
