Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing essential nuclear medicine services that support life-saving diagnoses and treatments. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will operate advanced nuclear imaging equipment, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation. You may also assist in other medical imaging areas as your training allows. Key Responsibilities Maintain schedule flexibility, punctuality, and availability while working effectively under pressure. Communicate complex information clearly, prioritize tasks, and coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently. Provide compassionate personal care and safe patient transfers using adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Handle confidential information with strict compliance to corporate policies. Participate actively in performance improvement initiatives. Keep patients and their families informed about exam status and respond promptly to their needs. Perform nuclear medicine procedures according to departmental policies and regulatory guidelines, ensuring patient safety and accurate record-keeping. Education Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine technology program is required. Experience At least one year of experience as a registered nuclear medicine technologist is necessary. Multi-modality technologist experience is preferred. Certification and Licenses Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) in good standing with NMTCB or RT(N) registered by ARRT. Registry-eligible candidates must attempt registry within 30 days of hire and pass within 90 days. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required. Mental and Physical Requirements Requires close mental and visual attention for extended periods. Must handle stressful situations due to patient conditions and customer demands. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs., pushing, pulling, stooping, and transporting oneself throughout the department. Working Conditions Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. Regular or scheduled on-call duties and varied shifts may be required to ensure continuous patient care.
