Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 Annually Location : 1200 N Dupont Highway, Dover Job Type: P12-Professional 12 month Job Number: 2025-00375 Division: COB Department: COLLEGE OF BUSINESS Opening Date: 01/23/2026 General Description of the Position The Grant Manager will report to the dean of the college. The incumbent will be expected to work with the Office of Research to identify new funding opportunities. Duties for the grants manager will include managing overall grant efforts, documenting payments, and expenditures, optimizing the grant administration processes, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, educating staff on policies and preparing financial reports. The incumbent skills and expertise in successful grants management will aid our organization in serving the public by securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and executing meaningful projects. The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, and exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The outstanding grants manager should re-enforce relationships with the Offices of Research Development and Services and the Office of Sponsored Program to ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, streamline grant administration, and keep our organization fiscally sound. Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEssential Functions Managing overall grant efforts and ensuring compliance with grant regulations Documenting payments and expenditure and preparing financial reports. Preparing and monitoring budgets. Optimizing the grant administration process and managing grant databases. Assist grant PIs with navigating University business processes related to hiring and supervising staff, student employment, procurement, and purchase cards, including entering purchase requisitions, preparing personnel action forms and position requisitions, and tracking these transactions through Banner and Docusign. Serve as a liaison between grant PIs and Finance & Administration to facilitate an efficient and productive workflow process. Assist PIs with maintaining budget records and reviewing and reconciling Banner 9 and ARGOS reports. Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. Directly participating in grant writing by working with coordinators or grant writers. Educating staff on policies and grant requirements. Determining and creating plans to enhance the grants administration procedure within the college. Perform related duties as assigned by the dean related to grants management. Other Functions Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. Must be comfortable with developing and managing budgets and spreadsheets. Knowledge of and experience with DSU organizational structure, workflow processes, and operating procedures is preferred. Proficient in the use of productivity and enterprise software including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), Banner 9, Argos, Docusign, and CentreSuite is preferred. Ability and willingness to learn new systems, techniques, and procedures. Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community and to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment. Must have good project management skills, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to maintain neat and accurate records. Strong writing skills Qualification StandardsEducation: Master's degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum of three years- experience in grants administration, preferably in a college or university.
