Job Title: Optical Technician II Location: Burlington, MA Shift: 1st (9 AM-5 PM) Pay Range: $19.95 - $24.95 Hourly Employment Type: Temporary Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Perform hands-on lab work supporting the second prototype build • Build and test prototypes • Perform testing and monitor experiments • Assemble and align optical components according to engineering specifications • Assist with verification and validation testing and maintain accurate documentation • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot performance or alignment issues Responsibilities: • Assemble and align optical components and sub-systems according to engineering specifications. • Perform optical testing and measurements • Assist in the execution of verification and validation test protocols. • Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, test results, and quality checks. • Support the design and fabrication of production tooling and test fixtures. • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and resolve optical performance and alignment issues. • Follow cleanroom, ESD, and optical handling best practices to ensure component integrity and product quality. • Ability to perform fine manual assembly and alignment tasks under a microscope or optical bench. • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and handle small, delicate components. • Ability to lift 40lbs Requirements: • Associate degree or equivalent experience in optics, photonics, or related field. • Hands-on experience with optical assembly and alignment including proper handling of optical components. • Familiarity with optical characterization techniques and testing methodologies. • Ability to read and interpret optical drawings and schematics. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Basic proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) is a plus. • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, ISO 13485, FDA QSR).
