The role will define API-led connectivity, govern standards, and implement secure, scalable integrations across finance and operations domains. The architect will guide teams on Costpoint Web Services over REST and SOAP, drive best practices on CI/CD, testing, observability, and ensure reliable production operations. The position requires GovCon ERP domain familiarity and hands-on MuleSoft expertise.This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.Rate: $75.00 to $85.00/hr. w2Responsibilities: Own the solution architecture for Costpoint-related integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform across System, Process, and Experience layers. Define integration patterns including synchronous and asynchronous orchestration, event-driven and batch processing, with error handling, resiliency, replay, idempotency, and performance approaches. Establish API standards for naming and versioning, documentation expectations, and a reusable assets strategy via Exchange. Design and implement integrations leveraging Costpoint Web Services over REST and SOAP, including secure exposure and consumption of integration modules. Guide teams on protocol selection and alignment to enterprise access and security constraints per Costpoint integration guidance. Translate business processes into integration requirements, mappings, and validation rules with Finance, Contracts, Projects, and HR stakeholders. Lead development of Mule applications, APIs, and services using Mule 4, DataWeave, APIkit, and standard connectors such as HTTP, DB, JMS/MQ, and SFTP/FTPS. Build and enforce CI/CD standards with Maven and Git, implement automated testing using MUnit, and govern releases. Implement secure integration practices including TLS and certificate management, OAuth2/JWT, secrets management, and least-privilege access. Set up observability with logging standards, correlation IDs, dashboards, alerting, and operational runbooks using Anypoint Monitoring and tools like Splunk. Troubleshoot production issues across MuleSoft runtimes and Costpoint endpoints, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive enhancements. Produce technical documentation including architecture diagrams, interface contracts, mapping specifications, and support guides. Mentor developers and integration engineers and conduct code and design reviews. Experience Requirements: 7+ years of enterprise integration experience with at least 4+ years on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4). Proven experience as an Integration Architect or MuleSoft Architect leading solution design and delivery. Demonstrated Deltek Costpoint integration experience with Costpoint Web Services over REST and SOAP and enterprise integration methods including APIs, file-based, and messaging. Hands-on expertise with Anypoint Platform, API Manager, CloudHub and/or Runtime Fabric, DataWeave, APIkit, and MUnit. API design proficiency with RAML or OpenAPI, RESTful best practices, versioning, and documentation. Integration pattern knowledge including orchestration, transformation, canonical models, queuing, retries, and circuit breakers. Understanding of Costpoint and GovCon ERP domains such as Projects, GL, AP/AR, Time and Expense, HR/Payroll, and Contracts/Billing. CI/CD experience using Maven and Git with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Experience with message-oriented middleware such as JMS, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka. Database integration experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or Postgres. Secure integration practices including TLS, certificates, OAuth2/JWT, and secrets management. MuleSoft certifications including MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, MuleSoft Certified Developer (Mule 4), or API Design Associate (preferred). Experience with Costpoint integration capabilities, extensibility framework, and related guides (preferred). Integration with token-based authentication and SFTP/FTPS patterns in enterprise environments (preferred). GovCon or regulated-industry experience with DCAA, CAS, FAR, or DFARS awareness (preferred). Experience with Azure or AWS, containerization, and hybrid networking such as VPN or private endpoints (preferred). Education Requirements: MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (preferred).
