This vital role offers the opportunity to provide essential medical assessments and support our nation's Veterans through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Overview We are seeking skilled General Medicine physicians to perform non-treatment, interview-based evaluations for Veterans nationwide. This role involves conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily focusing on interviews with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. The position offers flexible scheduling—partial or full days—on an ongoing basis, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. Required Skills Valid medical license to practice in Washington Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine Experience with or willingness to perform compensation and pension evaluations Strong interview and physical assessment skills Ability to complete exam reports and documentation accurately and promptly Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple evaluations efficiently Nice to Have Skills Previous experience with government or veteran-related evaluations Familiarity with VA assessment protocols Experience in conducting medical opinions and diagnostic reviews Bilingual abilities to serve diverse populations Preferred Education and Experience MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board certification in relevant specialty (if applicable) Prior experience in General Medicine, VA assessments, or related fields Minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience Other Requirements Candidates must be local to Washington State, as travel is included in rates Successful completion of training and credentialing process Ability to perform exams independently with minimal supervision Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards No prior certification for DMA or portal training is reimbursed; training must be completed before or at onboarding This is an excellent chance for qualified physicians to contribute to a vital mission while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive pay.
