Registered Nurse-School | Contract RoleSchedule: 12:00 AM - 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday Location: Nashville, TN Employment Type: 12-Month Contract Pay rate: $36 - $40/hr Duties and Responsibilities: Provide nursing care and perform procedures per physician orders and nursing protocols. Assess patient health, administer medications, take vital signs, and document in medical records. Monitor for medication side effects and evaluate effectiveness. Implement nursing care plans, educate patients, and carry out treatments. Perform BLS/CPR and respond to medical emergencies. Participate in emergency care for both students and staff. Provide one-on-one and emergency care for students with chronic conditions (e.g., seizures, diabetes, asthma, adrenal insufficiency, G-tubes, ventilators, etc.). Conduct initial and ongoing assessments following protocols. Collect and review clinic registration paperwork from parents and physicians. Conduct diagnostic tests to assess health status. Collaborate with school staff to discuss comprehensive health plans. May assign duties to Licensed Practical Nurses and clinic staff (up to 6 people). Track and maintain inventory of medications, instruments, and health supplies. Maintain all Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the campus. Additional Responsibilities: Attend student registration events (including at least one Sunday). Coordinate and participate in annual influenza vaccination clinic. Assist with annual vision and hearing screening clinics. Provide coverage for school sporting events, including travel and weekend coverage when necessary. Accompany students on field trips as needed. Train school staff on emergency medication administration and response protocols, with documentation submitted to the clinic director. Minimum Qualifications: Licensure: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee OR hold a privilege to practice in Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Experience: One year of registered nursing experience required. Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
