Site Director SY26-27 Location: Multiple Metro Atlanta Locations - View Map Position Type: Part-time, Temporary (One School Year) Start Date: July 2026 Interviews will be Scheduled for April and May 2026. LaAmistad is hiring driven and compassionate educators to lead our afterschool sites for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, you'll create a safe, encouraging space where students build literacy and math skills, develop social-emotional confidence, and grow alongside volunteer mentors. You'll also work closely with families, schools, and staff to ensure each child gets the tailored support they need to thrive-inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities As Site Director, you'll lead the daily operations of your afterschool site and create an environment where students, families, and volunteers all feel empowered to succeed. Your Core Responsibilities Will Include: Lead afterschool academic sessions focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional growth. Collaborate with LaAmistad's Academic Director to plan and adapt learning activities based on individual student needs. Monitor and report student progress using assessments, report cards, and school-provided data. Communicate regularly with parents, schools, volunteers, and program leadership regarding student development and site updates. Train, supervise, and support volunteer tutors and program assistants. Maintain site safety by enforcing emergency protocols and child protection policies. Foster strong partnerships with school staff and host site representatives. Share weekly updates via a digital newsletter with stakeholders. Manage site-level administrative tasks, including timesheet approvals for staff. A Typical Day Might Look Like: Arrive at host site, prepare materials, and set up classrooms Welcome students and volunteers; oversee sign-in and safety procedures Facilitate structured academic lessons and individualized tutoring Monitor enrichment or social-emotional activities Debrief with volunteers, wrap up documentation, communicate updates Depart after ensuring space is clean, secure, and all students are picked up safely What Success Looks Like Success as a Site Director means: Students are progressing academically and feel supported socially and emotionally. Volunteers feel equipped and appreciated in their roles. Parents and school partners feel connected and informed. Site operations run smoothly and safely every day. Program goals are met or exceeded, including student attendance, assessment benchmarks, and family engagement. Qualifications & Requirements Highly Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field At least one year of experience working with K-5 students First Aid/CPR certification Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills Confidence in leading a classroom independently Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs., climb stairs, and move quickly between classrooms Experience managing a team and/or volunteers Technology Requirements: Must provide own laptop Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Desired Skills and Attributes Retired educators (K-12) encouraged to apply Fluent in Spanish (preferred, not required) Passion for educational equity and community engagement Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families, volunteers, and school staff Self-motivated, resilient, and collaborative-aligned with LaAmistad's core values: Kindness: Speak with love, listen with patience, act with compassion Excellence: Every touch, every time, no exceptions Passion: Turn work into joyful pursuit Teamwork: Together, we achieve more Perseverance: Grit that drives change despite challenges Candidates over age 25 who are willing to drive a small bus/van to transport up to 14 students to afterschool, in addition to filling this role, will receive an additional $2/hour above their determined pay rate. Clean MVR required. No special license needed.
