Essential Duties And Responsibilities Oversee all plant activities; adapts operations as necessary to meet planned production schedules and to ensure that the highest of product quality standards are maintained. Define, develop and implement manufacturing strategy Manage employees involved in manufacturing and related activities, directly, and through delegation; coordinates activities required to assure safety, quality, and delivery. Assesses daily plant performance, develops, and implements actions and plans to improve upon and sustain high level of performance. Utilizes "Gemba" walks across production activities. Utilize tools to monitor cost trends and develop action plans for improvement. Promotes Lean Manufacturing, leading and participating in kaizen activities in departmental and cross-functional teams using Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies. Develops and updates SOP's and establish best practices to ensure consistent and effective production across all shifts. Ensure staff are trained and that training is effective. Coaches and mentors team members to assure their ongoing development. Stays abreast of new trends and developments in methods, techniques, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies, which might be incorporated into the production process to increase efficiency or better use of resources. Researches and recommends capital equipment purchases. Hire, train, review work, assist employees, establish production standards, evaluate. performance, enforce company rules and recommend changes in employee status. Assures staff adherence to safety accountability guidelines and policies. Develop, implement, and audit improved operating methods and procedures, including training programs to increase plant productivity, evaluate, and control attainment of objectives. Generate and analyze production reports, key performance indicators, and other metrics to track and identify areas for improvement. Ensure company conformance with OSHA and various safety regulations. Maintain and promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement and productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Perform other related duties as assigned. Other Duties And Responsibilities Monitor internal processes for material receipts, material usage, and inventory accuracy. Effectively manage department expenses including creating annual expense budget and executing capital plan. Work with Director of Technical services to develop and maintain effective preventive maintenance (PM) program for building and equipment. Develop metrics for measuring and improving product quality, on-time delivery, and job costing. Work effectively with Engineering, Sales, and Administration to assure all internal processes function effectively. Qualifications Candidates must have previous manufacturing and direct supervisory experience. Lead all production activities to produce products that meet quality standards and are shipped on-time. Implement effective safety processes and procedures. Drive the use of best manufacturing practices to produce cost savings, eliminate waste and improve employee performance. Proven work experience as a plant manager, preferably multi-shift experience. Knowledge of business and management principles such as costing and budgeting. Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)
