JOB POSITION: Maintenance Technician - HVAC (236 Days) LOCATION: Multiple locations START DATE: March 30, 2026 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works independently or as directed on HVAC systems following standard codes and appropriate safety procedures • Accurately diagnose and repair HVAC malfunctions • Accurately read and follow drawings • Maintain all HVAC equipment in good working condition • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems and equipment(change filters, clean coils) • Ability to use HVAC software packages to monitor, change operating parameters • Repair, service and install HVAC equipment • Ability to complete low voltage and high voltage wiring as related to HVAC systems • Working knowledge of ASHRAE and building codes, preferable • Ability to use testing equipment • Accurately record all repairs per department procedures • Follow written and oral instructions • Ability to pre-plan daily assignments • Monitor and maintain safe work procedures • Ability to work with other trades as required • Maintain good relationship with all school personnel • Knowledge in HVAC technology and procedures • Recommend alternate solutions to recurring problems • Receive training for maintaining and repairing new equipment • Train school personnel, if required, in proper operating procedures • Responsible for proper maintenance of assigned tools, equipment • Responsible for ensuring that the assigned county vehicle is maintained in a timely manner • Follows federal and state laws as well as Bartow County Board of Education policies • Maintains prompt and regular attendance • Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Basic computer skills in MS Office and HVAC control system packages • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent • Georgia State HVAC License for conditioned air • Boiler certification a plus • Minimum 5 years successful work experience in facilities maintenance PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: • Regular sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and/or kneeling • Ability to lift 70 pounds individually and move objects up to 140 pounds with assistance • Be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, read, talk, hear, crawl, and have depth perception • Be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather including cold, hot, wet, and high humidity • Pushing, pulling and/or reaching overhead • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations (as needed) in vision and communication • Available on call as required after hours, on weekends or holidays • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, as required Apply via our system website and online application process at Bartow County Schools The Bartow County Board of Education reserves the right to accept equivalent qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.
