Position: Hematology/Oncology Physician Location: Dothan, Alabama Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday Outpatient with Limited Inpatient Responsibilities Organization Overview This opportunity is with a respected regional healthcare system serving Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. The organization offers comprehensive cancer care through an integrated program that includes medical oncology, hematology, infusion services, radiation oncology, surgery, and advanced diagnostics. The cancer center provides a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by experienced oncologists, infusion nurses, pharmacists, navigators, and a robust administrative team. Position Summary The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician to join its expanding oncology program in Dothan, Alabama . This role includes a mix of outpatient clinic, infusion center oversight, and limited inpatient consults. The schedule is Monday-Friday with strong support from advanced practice providers, oncology nurses, and an experienced care coordination team. Essential Position Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care Diagnose and manage solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders Oversee infusion therapies and collaborate with infusion nursing teams Perform limited inpatient consultations as needed Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case conferences Coordinate care with radiation oncology, surgery, primary care, palliative care, and other specialists Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing follow-up care Review imaging, pathology, and labs to guide clinical decision-making Document accurately within the electronic health record (EHR) Engage in quality improvement, patient education, and program development initiatives Qualifications Education M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school Completion of an Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship Licensure & Certification Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license Current BLS/ACLS preferred Experience Open to 2026 graduating fellows Experienced oncologists also highly encouraged to apply Skills Strong diagnostic and clinical management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary cancer care environment Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care Compensation and Environment Competitive base salary + productivity incentives (commensurate with experience) Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans Malpractice coverage CME allowance + paid CME time Paid time off and reimbursement for licenses and professional fees Supportive oncology program with advanced technology and clinical resources Infusion center, radiation oncology, imaging, pathology, and pharmacy onsite Thank you for your time, and I look forward to connecting soon!
