Job Description

The Advanced Practice Provider provides healthcare services to patients under the direction and collaboration of a physician, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and invasive procedures within the mid-level provider?s scope of practice and privileges. Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am-4:30 pm Compensation: $105,000-125,000 per year. Location: Westminster, IA Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct patient exams, obtain medical history, record findings, and make preliminary diagnoses or recommend follow-up care. Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests (x-rays, EKGs, blood work, etc.). Perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management. Exercise professional judgment regarding consultations with supervising physicians. Develop and implement patient care plans; counsel and instruct patients on treatment, progress, and follow-up Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and clinic policies. Provide health education on diet, family planning, mental health, and preventive care. Assist physicians with emergencies and complex procedures. Maintain patient records, compile reports, and contribute to research and statistics as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Completion of one of the following (required): 4-year Physician Assistant (PA) baccalaureate program + 1 year of clinical training, OR 2-year accredited PA program (following 2 years of undergraduate study) + 2 years of post-program clinical training. Must maintain certification requirements: 100 hours of continuing medical education every 2 years. Recertification exam every 10 years (PA) or every 5 years (NP), unless otherwise required by governing boards. Accreditation by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers. Licensure/Certifications: Current state license (SD or NE, required). BCLS certification (required). ACLS certification (preferred). Current DEA license, unrestricted. Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Competency in providing care for all age groups: neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Clear communication skills in English (with or without reasonable accommodation). Use of both hands for handling and reaching. Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs. Ability to push up to 300 lbs. Vision requirements: 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses), close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
