General Maintenance Technician

General Maintenance Technician The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing and/or coordinating repair and maintenance activities on assigned equipment and facilities and ensures the overall functionality and safety of the retail store environment. This role performs routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting various repair and maintenance projects to enhance the store's operational efficiency. Work is not closely supervised and is governed by standardized work routines that permit the use of initiative, and typically has an impact through the provision of activities that require technical understanding or through the provision of administrative support of a facilitative or interpretive nature. Job Responsibilities: Completes general store reparative and preventative maintenance as directed by supervisor. Assesses store conditions and performs all-around maintenance and repair services in several crafts such as plumbing, general electrical repairs, basic construction, painting, and case repair. Maintains cleanliness and order in all maintenance areas and assists with janitorial tasks as needed, including trash removal and floor care. Ensures all maintenance tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe shopping environment for customers and staff. Uses expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs and provides preventative and cost-efficient repairs. Collaborates with store management and other staff to coordinate and prioritize maintenance schedules and address urgent repair needs. Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management. Experience & Education: HS Diploma and 1-2 years of experience or associates degree. Vocational training is preferred. Basic skills with tools, repair procedures Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, how they work and how they are maintained. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Coachability ability to take constructive criticism/direction, receive feedback. Certifications: Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and a clean driving record. Physical Demands: Supports retail store requests for maintenance or repair, often driving from one store location to another. Work Environment: Work is performed in a retail store environment. Frequent travel is required. Must be at least 18-years old.
