Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist Under the general direction of the Payroll Manager, this position has the responsibility for ensuring our employees are paid timely and accurately. Primary Responsibilities (May include but not limited to): Bi-weekly payroll processing: This includes calculating wages, processing deductions, and ensuring accurate payment. Leave request management: Handling sick leave, vacation time, and other types of leave. Direct deposit processing: Ensuring timely and accurate direct deposit of employee pay. Payroll report generation: Preparing and analyzing payroll reports for management. Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate records of employee payroll data, including pay, deductions, and benefits. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Employee support: Handling inquiries from employees regarding their pay and payroll-related issues. Required Education / Skills / Equivalent Experience (Prior to hire / transfer): Strong understanding of payroll principles and procedures. Familiarity with payroll software and systems. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with union-related payroll processes may be required for certain positions. The position is hybrid allowing work from home 3 days a week and is otherwise based in PVS Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. Employees are responsible for being onsite on an as needed basis.
