Job DescriptionThe Talent Acquisition Specialist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for our organization with offices Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland and California. This is more than a just a recruiter position (non-commissioned) as this person will assist with on-boarding and work with internal staff on our succession and mentoring programs.If you are looking to work with a great non-profit company with a great mission, amazing benefits and a work culture that stems over 80 years of service, this is your next place of employment.This is an in-office position onlyEssential functions Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment and on-boarding process. Collaborates with department leadership to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria. Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization. Work with the Organizational Development Coordinator in creating and implementing the position succession plan for the organization. Assists with job posting and advertisement processes. Assists leadership screen applications and selects qualified candidates. Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials. Assists with the interview process, attends and conducts interviews with leadership and other stakeholders, as needed. Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Attends and participates in applicable job fairs and recruiting sessions. Performs other duties as assigned. Some occasional travel may be required Physical demands This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and significant amount of time on the computer and/or phone. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds Travel required Reliable transportation. Occasional travel to job fairs on occasion. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics. Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Required education and experience Associate’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required. At least three years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred. SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus. Work authorization/security clearance requirementsDepartment of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees—citizens, residents, and nonresidents—to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
