General Description Mangan, Inc. is a nationally recognized electrical power and control systems engineering firm and is seeking a qualified Electrical Power Engineer in Sugarland, TX, to aid Mangan's growing electrical power offerings. Key Experience & Skills6-10 years' experience in the development of comprehensive electrical construction and specification packages suitable to be stamped by a Professional Engineer and submitted for authority plan check, comprised of at least the following: Load studies Single line diagrams Plot plan & area/building detail diagrams Lighting Grounding Conduit and cable schedules Construction specifications Equipment and installation details Additional experience in the following drawings preferred: Area classification drawings Motor/breaker schematics and wiring diagrams Lightning Protection Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books), and API 500 (preferred) Adept at the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel Expertise with power system modeling tools - ETAP or SKMpreferred Expertise in arc flash analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective coordination Experience in load flow, motor starting, and harmonics preferred. Experience with electrical power relay settings generation and implementation - GE Multilin and SEL preferred Highly effective at written and verbal communications EducationBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Completion Professional Engineer (Electrical) Certification Preferred ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of electrical power load studies Development of comprehensive electrical power construction packages sufficient to be stamped by a Professional Engineer and submitted for authority plan check Development of electrical power bills of material and coordinate with vendors for procured equipment pricing Execute field verification walkdowns, including as-building existing Electrical and E&I infrastructure Execute factory acceptance testing on electrical power equipment Execute start-up and commissioning, including electrical power and E&I troubleshooting as required Provide quality control and review of project documentation, including power system study reports, drawing packages, and equipment specifications/approval packages Provide best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as occurs Work with applicable Project Manager(s) to ensure overall quality of commercial deliverables, budget maintenance, etc. Keep the Project Manager(s) informed of technical progress, issues, need for change orders, etc. Assist Project Manager(s) in developing cost estimates and proposals for new project opportunities - providing technical expertise and guidance in applying cost to labor, expense, and procurement items Travel +/- 25% with willingness to travel via air Mangan Core CompetenciesSafety: Applies safety policies; displays enthusiasm for safety; is proactive in safety matters; attends company safety meetings Accountability: Works required days; works required hours; follows company check-in check-out procedure Attitude: Exhibits a positive "can do" attitude; shows initiative; demonstrates dependability, commitment and involvement; accepts direction from qualified sources Teamwork: Interacts well with co-workers; displays a willingness to cooperate with team; assists team members; shows respect for all team members Knowledge: Applies the specific requirements of the job; displays the ability to perform the technical skills required by the job; knows and applies company policies Quantity and Quality of Work: Work performed meets or exceeds company standards of acceptability; has the ability to manage multiple tasks Problem Solving and Action: Analyzes problems and takes action based upon decisions made with good judgment Communication: Demonstrates ability to clearly, effectively, and respectfully communicate with clients and fellow coworkers; communications are timely and intelligent whether written or verbal Mangan BenefitsCompetitive salary with a discretionary bonus for hours worked in excess of 80 hours in a two-week pay period Benefit Time Off (BTO) that can be used as paid vacation, sick time, holiday funding, or can be taken as cash Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) Matching Company funded health insurance Health club sponsorship
