Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting our client, Riverstone Group, in the search for a Enterprise IT Director. This position is based in Richmond, Virginia and is full-time onsite at their offices downtown. Riverstone Group are a second-generation, family-owned enterprise with seven operating businesses, a growing real estate portfolio, and a global investment platform. Technology plays a critical role in supporting our growth while preserving the independence of each operating company. Position Summary This role provides strategic guidance and cross-company coordination, enhancing each business unit's IT capabilities while preserving decentralized decision-making. The Enterprise IT Director leads enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity, and productivity initiatives while partnering with independent operating-company IT teams. The role is hands-on and strategic, focused on standardization where it adds value, shared solutions where appropriate, and influence-based leadership rather than direct authority. Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Technology LeadershipSet shared technology standards, roadmaps, and best practices across multiple operating companies. Provide strategic IT guidance and alignment without direct reporting authority. Serve as a connector and facilitator across independent IT teams. Support shared platforms and enterprise initiatives while respecting operating-company autonomy. Influence through partnership, collaboration, and trust-not command-and-control leadership. Cybersecurity & Risk ManagementLead enterprise cybersecurity strategy, policies, and tools (firewalls, antivirus, backups, data protection). Coordinate security initiatives and incident response across decentralized teams. Oversee audits, threat monitoring, and recovery planning. Lead employee cybersecurity awareness and training programs. Technology Operations & SystemsOversee performance, reliability, and security of corporate hardware, software, and networks. Manage vendors, software licensing, and technology contracts. Evaluate and support systems for finance, accounting, HR, property management, and operations. Research and coordinate enterprise-wide technology initiatives, including shared platforms and AI tools. Productivity & SupportImprove business applications and workflows to enhance efficiency and data accuracy. Provide day-to-day technology support to corporate teams and collaborate with operating companies as needed. Support users with varying technical skill levels. Documentation & ContinuityMaintain documentation for systems, access controls, procedures, and continuity planning. Support long-term resilience and institutional knowledge across the enterprise. Candidate Profile:Required Experience:5+ years of progressive IT experience, ideally in a multi-entity, decentralized, or professional services environment. Strong experience with cybersecurity tools, policies, and risk management. Proven ability to lead through influence without direct authority. Experience supporting both strategic initiatives and hands-on technology operations. Skills & Attributes:Collaborative, solutions-oriented leadership style. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable balancing enterprise standards with operating-company independence. Able to work independently and prioritize across multiple business units. Discreet, trustworthy, and culturally aligned with a family-owned organization.
