Waterfront Head Guard

Please complete the attached Related Experience document and the Availability Calendar and email to Head Guard (Must be 17+ years old) Hours: 32 to 40 per week Hourly Rate Range: $18.50 to $19.00 About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Guard to oversee our waterfront operations. As the Head Guard, in the absence of the Waterfront Director/Co-director, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests and staff members at Sandy Beach. You will be responsible for managing a team of guards and gate attendants and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. Responsibilities: Responsible for opening and closing Sandy Beach in the absence of the Assistant Director. Secure restroom doors, gates and beach gates at closing. Oversee all waterfront operations and ensure that all safety protocols are followed Manage a team of lifeguards and ensure that they are in position, properly trained and equipped to handle any situation and are adequately performing their tasks. Maintain the waterfront area and respond to any emergencies or incidents that may arise, including decisions based upon the weather. Teach swimming sessions as assigned; may include evening sessions. Maintain current records pertaining to swimming programs. Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all guests have a positive experience at our waterfront facility Performs special duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge and skill of rescue methods and first aid as applied to accidents in the water and surrounding areas. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, participants, and parents while enforcing regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially. Ability to recognize and prevent potentially dangerous situations; implementation of appropriate action. Commitment to attend review meetings on LGT and other beach related issues. Job RequirementsMust have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lifeguard Must have a valid lifeguard certification or WSI Certification Must have American Red Cross FA/CPR/AED certification and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training Must have excellent communication and leadership skills Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Must be able to swim and perform rescues in open water Must be able to demonstrate physical endurance, visual and auditory acuity, professionalism and skills in using lifesaving equipment and techniques.
