Position Overview: Maintenance Mechanic Sigma, Inc. is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to work onsite with our team in Hicksville, NY. This 6-month contract position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals to support facility and manufacturing equipment operations in a production environment. Please ensure candidates are aware of the work location: Hicksville, NY (Onsite).Key Responsibilities:1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose equipment issues and determine the extent of repairs or adjustments required. Maintain, adjust, repair, rebuild, and overhaul manufacturing and facility equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on complex machinery. Operate special equipment such as a Manlift. 2. Troubleshooting & Documentation: Enter repair orders and maintain accurate maintenance records in an automated system. Record time spent, materials and parts used, and type of work performed. Prepare work orders and documentation of services completed. 3. Workshop & Safety Compliance: Organize, clean, and maintain the workshop area. Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively. Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements (Steel Toe Shoes required). Work safely around moving equipment and in varying temperature environments. 4. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with associates and supervisors. Follow oral and written instructions. Perform all duties of a mechanic's helper without supervision. Support team operations to ensure minimal downtime and efficient workflow. Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is a plus. Experience: Experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with production or industrial environments preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand and power tools. Ability to read and understand maintenance and specification manuals. Experience preparing work orders and maintaining service records. Experience operating a Manlift preferred. Skills & Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for the entire shift. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a production environment with typical noise levels. Ability to work around moving equipment and in hot/cold temperatures. Physical dexterity to perform preventive maintenance tasks. Must be fluent and able to read and write in either English or Spanish (onsite safety requirement).
