Advanced LPN Clinic Float | Licensed Practical Nurse

As an Advanced LPN Clinic Float, you will support physicians and mid-level providers by delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education with professionalism and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling. Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed. Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments. Support examinations within the scope of your license and perform phone triage. Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and answering patient inquiries. Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences. Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs including height and weight. Manage and update medication and patient summary lists. Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered. Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching. Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, handling precertifications and authorizations as needed. Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols. Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability while maintaining focus under pressure. Education Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required. Experience Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications and Licenses Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of practice. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Physical and Mental Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Expect regular exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with challenging individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is anticipated.
