Details Position is based at a children's hospital in a float role spanning three units: a 22-bed Level III NICU, an 8-bed Level II PICU, and a 24-bed general pediatric med/surg unit NICU patient population includes preterm infants as young as 22 weeks, respiratory distress, hyperbilirubinemia, IDM/poor feeders, failure to thrive, and hypoglycemia — with a focus on quiet developmental support PICU patient population includes Level II traumas, respiratory diagnoses, ingestions, and surgical cases Pediatric med/surg unit includes an embedded Eating Disorder Stabilization Program and a long-term EEG program Patients range in age up to 18 years Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Major holiday blocks observed Requirements Active CA RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and PALS Minimum 5 years of ICU experience required Strong NICU experience required Solid pediatric critical care skills required First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Additional Information Float RN role with consistent rotation across NICU, PICU, and general pediatrics Only one orientation per month is available, so flexibility on start date is very limited Skills checklist and two professional references required for consideration Contract is a 13-week minimum with the possibility of extension American Traveler Job ID P-680975.
