As a Speech Language Pathologist in Charlotte, North Carolina, your role transcends the mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders; it's about unlocking potential, nurturing self-assurance, and foraging connections that matter deeply. You'll work with individuals across all age groups - from little ones discovering the joy of their first words to seniors reclaiming their ability to communicate effectively. This position offers a rare chance to impact diverse populations in a facility that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy while providing occasional inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in nurturing early childhood language development, addressing adult neurogenic communication challenges, or aiding geriatric cognitive-linguistic recovery, you'll discover both fulfillment and flexibility here. Position Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessment tools and observational methods. Create individualized treatment plans aimed at meeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues. Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to devise comprehensive care strategies. Provide education to patients and their families to support therapeutic progress beyond sessions. Assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, maintaining continuity of care throughout each patient's therapy journey. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and timely, compliant with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaboration with colleagues. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Essential Skills Expertise in implementing evidence-based treatment paradigms for a diverse age range, accompanied by a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation practices. Perks and Benefits Attractive compensation that reflects your expertise and experience. Flexible scheduling options promoting a healthy work-life balance with varied patient caseloads. Opportunities for specialization in pediatric care, adult neurological rehab, or geriatric therapy. Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Support for continuing education and professional growth. A collaborative team environment prioritizing quality patient care and lifelong learning. Embrace a Career That Fuels Growth In this position, you won't merely provide speech therapy; you'll join a mission that embraces the essence of communication, fosters understanding, and creates joyful connections through the simplest human interactions.
