Material Handler

Material Handler We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring accurate order picking and shipping & receiving processes. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and mechanical systems to support smooth logistics and inventory management. This is a temporary position with possibility of going temp to perm. 1st shift 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday Duties Load and unload materials Operate scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory and process orders Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with precision and efficiency Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring proper documentation and safety compliance Conduct materials handling tasks including moving, stacking, and organizing stock within the warehouse Assist in maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards Perform routine inspections on equipment such as forklifts and mechanical tools to ensure operational safety Support warehouse distribution tasks including order picking and load & unload operations Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve inventory accuracy Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling roles Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in shipping & receiving or construction environments is a plus Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management Warehouse experience or supervisor experience is advantageous for career growth opportunities
