About the Internship We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Intern to support our EHS and Quality teams within a manufacturing environment that builds Gas Processing Plant Equipment. This internship provides hands-on experience in industrial safety, process documentation, and exposure to ISO 9001 quality systems. The intern will assist in improving safety manuals, writing procedures, and supporting compliance activities throughout the facility. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Documentation & Process Development Assist in writing, editing, and updating safety manuals, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Create and revise work instructions, process guides, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Support document control and compliance tracking for safety and quality processes. Training & Safety Engagement Help prepare training materials and assist with new-hire safety orientations. Participate in safety meetings and contribute ideas to promote a strong safety culture. Compliance & Inspections Conduct basic facility safety walkthroughs to identify hazards and verify compliance with established procedures. Assist with environmental, health, and safety audits and corrective action follow-up. Support and observe investigations of minor incidents and near-misses. ISO 9001 Quality System Support Assist with ISO 9001 internal audits, including audit preparation, document review, and collecting objective evidence. Help update and maintain ISO 9001-related procedures, forms, and controlled documents. Participate in audit findings follow-up and support corrective/preventive action tracking. Daily Support & Administrative Tasks Assist the EHS team with data entry, safety reporting, and record management. Contribute to ongoing safety projects related to ergonomics, equipment guarding, chemical management, and PPE improvements. Requirements • Current student or recent graduate pursuing a related degree. • Strong writing and documentation skills. • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. • Basic understanding of OSHA safety principles. Preferred • Experience or coursework related to ISO 9001 or quality management systems. • Familiarity with hazard communication, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, or similar safety programs. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
