Description Conduct thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized tests and observational methods. Create tailored treatment strategies that focus on immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work synergistically with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans. Educate patients and families to ensure continued progress beyond therapy sessions. Administer occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining continuity throughout the healing process. Ensure precise and prompt documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational norms. Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of innovations in the field through continuing education and peer interactions. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to ASHA certification if applicable. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained 30 days from the start of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills for engaging effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Flexibility to modify therapy approaches to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical decision-making and analytical skills.
