Children's Minnesota Patient Care Supervisor About Children's Minnesota: Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Department Overview: Our St. Paul 5th and 6th floors are 26-bed pediatric medical/surgical units that cares for a spectrum of children, from infants to young adults, suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our 5th-floor team of dedicated professionals specialize in the care of patients with diabetes, general medical/surgical care, and children in acute behavioral health crisis. Our 6th-floor team of dedicated professionals also specialize in the care of patients with diabetes, in addition to respiratory conditions and post-operative surgical care, with a specialty in urological surgery, while also providing medical stabilization to children with eating disorders. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from overnight to several days for a specialty diagnosis. Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include child life, music therapy, social work, dietitians, case managers and other specialists. Position Summary: The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is considered a front-line department/unit leader. The PCS will directly lead clinical support staff and assist in the leadership of RN staff. License/Certification/Registration: Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required, Current BLS required. Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Experience: 3 years of direct patient care experience within a related specialty. Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Desired characteristics: dependable, responsible, strong conflict resolution skills, knowledge of assigned unit, ability to multi-task, self-starter with ability to problem solve independently. Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit.
