Salary: $16.50 - $20.50 Hourly Location : Laurel MD 20723, MD Job Type: Contingent Job Number: Water Safety Instructor-121025 Department: Recreation & Parks Opening Date: 12/12/2025 Closing Date: Continuous POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTIONBRIEF DESCRIPTION: Provide swimming lesson instruction. DUTIES: Provide swimming lesson instruction for various skill levels. Must be willing to work as a lifeguard, if certified, when needed. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Possess the following Red Cross certifications: Water Safety Instructor (WSI) First Aid CPR for the Professional Rescuer Additional qualifications/skills: Must be at least 17 years of age. Willing to accept responsibility. Display leadership abilities and be able to delegate duties and responsibilities. Be responsible for all records, (attendance, accident reports, scheduling). Must teach Red Cross swim lessons. Must be trained in the use of AED. EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with children. EDUCATION: Attending high school or college. RATE OF PAY: Contingent - Paraprofessional $16.50-$20.50 per hour depending on experience.
