We are seeking experienced Locum physicians to provide essential high-risk pregnancy care in Richmond, VA, supporting hospital teams during recruitment periods. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to comprehensive prenatal care while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. In this important position, you will deliver specialized pregnancy management, including high-level procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal assessments, across inpatients and outpatient settings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RN clinic educators, sonographers, and genetic counselors, to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will support a practice with a high high-risk pregnancy load, facilitating complex care delivery within state-of-the-art facilities. Required Skills: Medical Degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine Valid state medical license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one Proven experience with high-risk pregnancy management Proficiency in procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, and ultrasound interpretation Strong understanding of EMR systems, particularly EPIC and Viewpoint Excellent communication and teamwork skills Nice to Have Skills: Experience supervising other healthcare providers Knowledge of cerclage procedures Familiarity with labor management and delivery, including Cesarean and vaginal births Additional certifications in fetal therapy or advanced obstetric interventions Preferred Education and Experience: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Completion of a subspecialty fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine At least 2 years of recent high-risk obstetric practice experience in a hospital setting Other Requirements: Credentialing within approximately 90 days Availability to work during the specified dates with flexibility for additional days if needed Willingness to support a practice with high-risk pregnancies predominantly Reimbursement for travel, lodging, and related expenses as applicable This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your professional portfolio, enjoy flexible scheduling, and be part of a compassionate healthcare community.
