National Children’s Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is one of the region’s largest non-governmental providers of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Summary: At NCC, the LPN works under the supervision of a RN and is primarily responsible for safe, accurate medication administration and documentation within the Community Support Services Program. This detail-oriented and empathetic professional must demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ensure precise transcribing of physician orders, maintain thorough and compliant documentation, and support effective medication management and administrative processes.Schedule & Location: Monday-Friday flexible work hours (9am-5pm and 12pm-8pm). Work 1 weekend per month. The LPN maintains an office in downtown Silver Spring, MD and travels to locations across Washington, DC, Prince George’s and Montgomery County.You will drive your own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement.The salary for this position is $29.00 per hour.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Administers medications to multiple site locations, and day program Performing nursing assessments to people supported as needed Monitoring patients’ overall health during home visits. Monitors and update current MAR’s with physician orders and review MAR’s for un-signed medications each month and RN will co-sign. Review daily medication refills orders and take to the home as needed Review and distribute monthly MAR’s and medications Schedule appointments, and prepare specialty clinic consults as recommended by M.D. Provides nursing coverage for the day program as needed. Attends Interdisciplinary Team Meetings as needed. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maryland and the District of Columbia Valid driver's license and own vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed) EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Diploma/certificate from a two-year college or technical school in Nursing CPR/ First Aid certification Must be licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland as an LPN COVID-19: You are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to your first day of employment.
