Hiring Agency: Correctional Services - Agency 46 Location: Lincoln, NE Hiring Rate: $25.755 Job Posting: JR2026-00023555 Administrative Programs Officer II - Nebraska State Penitentiary (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): 03-17-2026 Job Description: The Nebraska State Penitentiary is looking for a detail-oriented person to serve as our public information officer (PIO), PREA compliance manager, litigation and risk manager, and court processing liaison. Job Duties: • Serve as the PIO and litigation officer. • Assist with planning and ensuring compliance with PREA standards. • Coordinate all media requests for information as well as respond to inquiries from the public. • Work with the courts as a liaison for court hearings. • Monitor and respond to litigation requests and NEOC complaints. • Supervise and evaluate subordinate staff. • Serve as a member of the executive staff to discuss and analyze institutional needs. • Serve as a member of institutional committees as assigned. • Serve as the lead for all records retention and file storage area within the institution. • Review inmate grievances and provide suggested responses. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing program administrative or business financial functions. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience preparing responses to litigation requests. Public relations experience including media contact and preparing newsletters. Two years corrections experience, of which one year must be in a supervisor capacity. Computer skills to include Word, Excel and Power Point. Other: Valid driver's license.
