Job Summary The Network Reliability Specialist will be responsible for providing support and subject matter expertise to ensure the reliability of the Ziply network. This role will be required to provide 24x7 coverage as needed to resolve customer service issues due to equipment failures resulting in major outage conditions within the network. The Network Reliability Specialist will also be required to provide formal and on-the-job training throughout the region in person or via virtual training classes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee and not intended to reflect all duties performed. Network Reliability & Technical Support • Responsible for providing support to ensure the reliability of the network. • Provide technical leadership and support of all network equipment, including switching, transmission, power and HSI. • Provide 24x7 coverage for all network issues and outages. • Perform on site field Tier I and II support. This includes any transport or switching elements currently in limited service or outage. • Provide subject matter expertise on network reliability issues. • Perform root cause analysis evaluation in a timely manner. • Perform report analysis, recommend technical solutions, and implement those solutions in the field. • Work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Training, Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities • Prepare and teach training classes for both associates and management personnel (formal and informal). • Responsible for administrative duties including but not limited to: prioritizing and scheduling projects, writing technical documents, preparing training documents and writing executive summaries that will be presented to upper level management. Customer Experience & Communication • Interact with customers, providing a best-in-class customer experience. Other Duties • Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED. • Bachelor's degree in technical field or 5-7 years related work experience. • Minimum of five (5) years Central Office Switching, Transport, Main Distribution Frame and Power maintenance. • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with industry standard test equipment. • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with Analog/digital Circuits, Trunking, and Designed Circuits. • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite. • Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and satisfactory driving record. Preferred Qualifications: • Working knowledge of network control monitoring and surveillance systems and procedures. • Previous experience with Circuit Design and Provisioning. • Previous experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to lead/support a team during an outage crisis to bring timely resolution during service outages. • Ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis situation or data requires evaluation of varying factors. Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations. • Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. • Ability to work within critical deadlines. • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules. • Ability to provide excellent customer service. • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a team. • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. • Team player with ability to communicate across functional organizations and provide accurate and concise updates to executives. Work Environment Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
