GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Experience Leader (EL) is pivotal in driving Ulta Beauty's mission and values while leading a dedicated team to achieve exceptional sales growth in both retail and services. The EL will oversee stylists, estheticians, guest coordinators, Assistant Services Managers, Sales Managers, and boutique leads. This leader is focused on ensuring a superior guest experience and driving profitability across all service and retail sectors. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The EL will champion Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values by fulfilling the following responsibilities: Performance Foster a culture of accountability to surpass goals in services, retail sales, and guest loyalty. Enhance company profitability through operational excellence and cost control. Utilize forecasts and budgets to optimize store scheduling and productivity. Develop strategies for improving underperforming metrics in various store sectors. Assist team members in cultivating and maintaining their clientele. Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations to elevate customer experiences. Stay abreast of industry trends and products to better serve guests. Uphold Ulta Beauty's attendance policy as both an EL and within the team. People Recruit, retain, and nurture a diverse team of talented professionals. Build an engaged team that exemplifies Ulta Beauty’s brand through collaboration and effective communication. Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and associate engagement. Drive professional development through training, feedback, and performance reviews. Encourage direct reports to engage in ongoing training for continuous improvement. Foster peer relationships to enhance sales and service delivery. Model teamwork and service excellence by actively engaging with the leadership team. Lead the Guest Engagement Leader program to achieve business performance goals. Process Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and standards. Enforce the company’s dress code. Utilize scheduling and task management tools to enhance operational efficiency. Guarantee adherence to safety and inventory control standards. Manage loss prevention and address inventory control processes effectively. Communicate trends and insights to leadership for ongoing improvement. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education Preferred Bachelor's degree. Cosmetology license and/or cosmetology management license as required by state law. Experience 2-3+ years of relevant retail management experience. Strong financial management skills with a focus on sales growth and expense control. Expertise in cosmetology management and compliance with Board of Cosmetology regulations. Proven retail management experience in inventory monitoring and operational excellence. Demonstrated leadership skills in team development and motivation. Skills Proficient with essential technologies (Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, etc.). Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational capabilities. Able to maintain composure and make judicious decisions under pressure. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be willing to work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Participation in corporate meetings and conferences is required. WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent mobility throughout the store during shifts. Regularly standing, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.) during shifts. Regular use of computer and telephonic devices.
