Position Type: Substitute/Substitute Nurse Date Posted: 1/21/2026 Location: School District 30 Administrative Office Date Available: ASAP Position Details Location: Wescott, Willowbrook, and Maple School Department: Student Services Reports to: Building Principal Pay: $200 per day Position Summary We are seeking substitute school nurses to provide direct nursing services to students in order to maximize health and wellness in the school community. The substitute nurse works in the absence of the regular school nurse, ensuring continuity of health services across our elementary and middle schools. Duties are to be performed in accordance with standards of professional school nurse practice, the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act, and District and State Board of Education policies and procedures. School Hours Elementary Schools (Willowbrook and Wescott): 8:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Maple Middle School: 8:35 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. Required Qualifications Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (other nursing credentials may be considered) Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution Current CPR and First Aid certification Knowledge of professional school nurse practice standards and the Illinois Nursing Act Ability to assess student health needs and provide appropriate interventions Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student health information Flexibility to work across multiple school buildings as needed Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence, as the Board may specify
