Job Category Claims Compensation Overview This role offers an annual salary range influenced by various factors including job scope, complexity, and the candidate's experience. Employees may also be eligible for performance-based cash incentives. Salary Range $94,400.00 - $155,800.00 What Is the Opportunity? This position includes a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and follows a hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating, and resolving complex General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the claims life cycle. You will be an essential resource for consulting and training, supporting both field and business partners while upholding quality standards and regulations. What Will You Do? Manage high-severity claims with a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service. Communicate clearly with insureds, utilizing policy information and case details effectively. Collaborate with management on Claim Coverage Counsel usage as needed. Conduct thorough investigations by reaching out to stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and experts. Execute detailed outside investigations tailored to specific case requirements. Identify and coordinate necessary internal and external resources for claims evaluation. Review relevant documentation to verify the extent of injury or damage. Keep organized and compliant claim files. Select and use evaluation documentation tools as per department guidelines. Proactively assess claims for quality compliance through comprehensive Claim File Analysis. Manage diaries to ensure timely claim processing. Establish and adjust indemnity and expense reserves when necessary. Engage in discussions to improve claim management strategies. Share insights on innovative resolution techniques with your team. Consistently uphold claim quality management protocols while documenting any required deviations. Explore creative resolution strategies for claims. Negotiate claim settlements with insureds, claimants, or their legal representatives. Effectively oversee litigated claims and devise strategic litigation plans. Monitor and control legal expenses for efficient claim resolution. Participate in legal proceedings as required. Keep relevant parties informed about new information affecting liability and settlement options. Recognize and escalate complex cases as necessary. Handle confidential information with care. Meet service commitments delineated for specific accounts. Act as a technical resource for the company during legal proceedings. Mentor and coach junior claims professionals. Collaborate with business partners to achieve high-quality outcomes. Evaluate claims for recovery potential and manage recovery efforts accordingly. Obtain and keep necessary Insurance Licenses in compliance with state and Travelers' requirements. Perform other assigned tasks as needed. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor's Degree. A minimum of 4 years of experience in handling bodily injury litigation claims. Advanced knowledge of coverage, liability, and damages analysis. Proven ability to evaluate complex claims efficiently. Adept at making independent decisions on most cases. In-depth understanding of business line products, policy language, and best practices in claims handling. Willingness to collaborate and share innovative insights with others. Intermediate customer service skills. Demonstrated expertise in coaching and persuasive communication. Strong communication skills for explaining complex information clearly. Proficiency with business technology tools for effective information management. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
