Logistics Specialist Job Summary: The Logistics Specialist is the international shipping & technical parts coordinator responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant international shipments from the Jeffersonville, Indiana warehouse. This role supports aftermarket parts, sales, and service by utilizing Manitowoc Product Support systems and procedures. The specialist provides expert technical shipping assistance for global customers. Key duties include verifying parts and documentation through ERP systems, managing country-specific shipping requirements, interpreting engineering documentation for serialized crane configurations, and ensuring parts meet fit, form, and function standards. Additional responsibilities include stamping, measurements, photography, freight tracking, and claims reporting. Responsibilities: Professional interaction with internal and external customers Timely and accurate communication and processing of documentation Data lookup and maintenance in ERP systems Proactive Quality and Grief follow up Adherence to Parts & Service policies Other tasks include taking pictures of parts, measurements, freight tracking, and internal and external claims reporting. Meet training and education goals Required Skills/Abilities: Clear communication skills with non-native English speakers. Attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and shift priorities. Ability to manage and prioritize orders. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in international shipping and logistics, preferably in a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of ERP systems and shipping documentation processes. Baan and SAP experience preferred. Technical aptitude for identifying and verifying parts according to engineering documentation. Excellent organizational skills. Physical Requirements: Sitting and Computer Use: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or participating in virtual meetings. Mobility: Ability to move freely throughout the office and regularly access the warehouse floor. Lifting and Carrying: Lift and carry packages up to 30 pounds. Standing and Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking in a warehouse environment. Climbing and Bending: Occasional need to climb stairs, bend, or kneel while inspecting package contents. PPE Compliance: Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toed shoes as required. Report Hazards Promptly: Identify and report any unsafe conditions or incidents in the office or adjacent production areas. Coordinate with Production Areas: When entering manufacturing zones, comply with PPE requirements and safety signage, and follow escort protocols if not authorized for independent access. Support Mental and Physical Wellness: Utilize available wellness resources and promote a balanced, health-conscious work environment. Collaborate with Safety Teams: Work with the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team to ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards. Work Environment: Warehouse Floor Exposure: Will be working on the warehouse floor Exposure to moderate noise, dust, and moving machinery. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as composite and steel-toed shoes must be worn as required. Awareness of forklift traffic, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment is essential. Collaborative Environment: Regular interaction with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and customer service. Safety-Focused Culture: All employees are expected to follow safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training. Travel Requirements: This position may require up to 5% travel, including visits to customer sites, service locations, or other company facilities. Travel may involve overnight stays and should be planned in coordination with the department manager.
