Overview What You'll Be Doing Join Cadmus as a Senior Consultant specializing in energy industry demand-side management and potential studies. Our Planning and Assessment Team delivers advanced analytics and strategic consulting to energy utilities, governments, and non-profit organizations. We are in search of skilled, motivated professionals with experience in conducting potential studies and a solid understanding of the analytical frameworks necessary for demand-side management and utility resource planning. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in demand-side management studies, creating in-depth deliverables that guide our clients’ short and long-term resource planning. You will lead projects from initiation to completion, overseeing quantitative analyses, managing project teams, tracking progress, developing reports, and presenting findings to diverse audiences. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership in modeling and analysis to evaluate demand-side management potential and integrated resource planning across diverse technologies and programs. Oversee research and analysis initiatives. Facilitate discussions on policy, economic, and technical matters with clients and project stakeholders. Conduct thorough reviews of team analyses to ensure accuracy and quality. Synthesize research findings to provide insights aligned with client objectives. Communicate results, methodologies, and data sources clearly, both orally and in writing. Manage consulting projects, ensuring timely achievement of project goals, effective team collaboration, and clear communication. Track budgets, manage invoicing, plan projects, and oversee resource allocation. Ensure all deliverables surpass client expectations and adhere to Cadmus standards. Build and nurture relationships with clients, maintaining open communication regarding project updates and any potential challenges. Draft comprehensive reports and presentations detailing findings and recommendations for clients. Identify and pursue business development opportunities to enhance work with existing clients and attract new prospects through proposal initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mechanical or environmental engineering, economics, statistics, mathematics, or environmental studies. 8-10 years of experience managing research or planning projects utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods. At least one year of experience in leading or supporting demand-side management potential studies and/or resource planning for U.S. utilities. Industry exposure to utilities, especially in energy efficiency, demand response, solar PV, battery storage, and building electrification. Proven experience managing multiple projects and teams in a consulting framework. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. Strong project management abilities, including client interaction, budget oversight, report preparation, and staff mentorship. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex topics to varied audiences. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a pertinent field such as mechanical or environmental engineering, economics, or statistics. Experience in managing or modeling demand response programs. Prior consulting experience with independent decision-making and teamwork skills. Experience in staff management and skill development. Business development experience. Proficiency in R or Python. Additional Information: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen. Cadmus offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and various bonus programs, with a minimum starting salary of $125,000 for this position.
