Location: Anacortes, WA, Onsite Schedule: Full Time / 40 hours per week Salary Range: $81,515 $122,262 annually Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Benefits & Leave Administrator serves as the lead administrator and subject-matter expert for employee benefits and leave programs. This role independently manages the full lifecycle of benefits and leave administration, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides advanced guidance to employees, leaders, and OTM, HRIS and Finance partners. The position plays a critical role in complex leave case management, vendor coordination, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement of programs that support workforce well-being and operational effectiveness. What you will be doing: Serve as the primary administrator and subject-matter expert for all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits. Independently manage benefits administration activities, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment planning and execution, audits, and system updates. Administer all leaves of absence, including FMLA, state and local leave programs, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation coordination, military leave, and organizational leave policies. Act as the escalation point for complex benefits and leave cases, exercising independent judgment to ensure compliant, consistent, and employee-centered outcomes. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and leave administration (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ACA). Manage relationships with benefit vendors, brokers, and carriers, including issue resolution, plan changes, and ongoing coordination. Provide clear, timely communication and education to employees, leaders, and OTM, HRIS, Finance partners regarding benefits, leave rights, and responsibilities. Actively collaborate with HRIS partner to maximize and optimize integration with HRIS system and all third-party vendors supporting the benefits and leave programs. Maintain accurate, audit-ready records and prepare reports related to benefits utilization, leave trends, and compliance requirements. Partner with OTM, Payroll, Finance, and operational leaders to ensure aligned administration of benefits, leave, and pay practices. What you will bring: Advanced working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and related employment regulations. Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex benefits and leave cases and exercise sound judgment. Experience working with HRIS and benefits administration systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters. Your Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Talent Management, Business Administration, or a related field. CEBS designation (or progress toward it) is highly preferred. Completion of the full CEBS credential is a requirement of the role to be fulfilled within 3 years of employment. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in benefits administration and leave management, preferably in healthcare or another highly regulated environment.
