Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator / Project Preconstruction Manager to lead and support our commercial HVAC and mechanical construction estimating efforts. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing construction documents, coordinating with internal teams and vendors, and supporting project planning from bid through execution. The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in our customer's growth-balancing technical knowledge, financial accuracy, and strategic planning-while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Management Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects Review and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform quantity take-offs and material/labor assessments Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes Prepare bid proposals, scope letters, and supporting documentation Track bid schedules, deadlines, and submission requirements Maintain historical cost data and pricing databases for future estimates Project Planning & Coordination Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams during project handoff Assist with budget development, value engineering, and cost control strategies Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs Support project startup by clarifying scope, schedules, and material needs Coordinate with purchasing and operations to ensure smooth project execution Customer & Business Development Support Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, and design teams Respond to bid questions, clarifications, and revisions Help develop competitive pricing strategies to support business growth Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners Compliance & Quality Control Ensure estimates comply with company standards, contract requirements, and project specifications Verify accuracy of scope, exclusions, and assumptions Promote consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement within estimating processes Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (construction, engineering, or technical education preferred) Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction systems Previous estimating, project management, or field experience strongly preferred Solid understanding of HVAC, piping, ductwork, controls, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Reliable, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented mindset #008 #Zip Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator / Project Preconstruction Manager to lead and support our commercial HVAC and mechanical construction estimating efforts.
