Registered Nurse (RN) - PPOP PACU

OrthoIndy Hospital South Registered Nurse PPOP PACU OrthoIndy Hospital South, located in Greenwood, Indiana, provides outpatient care and inpatient care, with four operating rooms and a 15-bed inpatient unit for patients undergoing more invasive procedures, such as disc replacement, spinal fusion or total hip and knee joint replacement. Other services include an urgent care, clinics, imaging and physical therapy. The Registered Nurse PPOP PACU provides nursing care and service during the preoperative and postoperative periods, integrating and making nursing judgments pertaining to the patient's condition on a routine and emergency basis. The position oversees the supervision of all non-licensed personnel, while also receiving direction from Physicians. Essential duties include: Monitoring and assessing patient condition and reporting any unusual symptoms, occurrences or discrepancies to manager and appropriate Physicians. Completing treatments and procedures as ordered and assigned by the Physician, consistent with patient complexity and commensurate with the skill, knowledge, and training of the individual. Providing care safely, with adequate quality, quantity, and timeliness and according to applicable standards. Admitting patients to all areas within pre and post-operative and post-anesthesia services, and receiving and reviewing pre post-operative report. Setting-up, operating and monitoring the use of various systems, equipment and instrumentation required for the care of patients. Reviewing and initiating Physician's orders, administering medication, parenteral fluids and treatment as needed. Providing instruction, information, and counseling to patients and their families as needed. Distributing educational material as appropriate. Maintaining medication and nursing documentation within the patient record. Demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and development levels of patients served. Requirements include: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred from a nationally accredited nursing program. 2-4 years Registered Nurse experience in any of the following units required; PACU, ICU or ER. 4-6 years of experience preferred. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required. BLS, ACLS certification required; PALS preferred. OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
