Join Our Innovative Team! As a vital member of our Knowledge Management and Innovation team, the Manager of Data Analytics will play a crucial role in providing data-driven legal solutions and insights to our internal and external clients. You will oversee our data visualization platforms, reporting tools, and advanced analytics, while offering hands-on support for project workflows and analyses as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Strategy and Leadership: Collaborate with the Director of Data Analytics and Strategy to develop and execute the firm's data analytics roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client service standards. Lead, mentor, and cultivate a talented team of data analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork. Engage with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders to pinpoint data-driven opportunities that benefit our operations. Work cross-functionally to analyze data and create actionable solutions that further the firm's strategic goals. Identify and support the development of client-facing solutions that have potential for productization. Effectively communicate complex data concepts in an understandable manner to non-technical audiences. Data Management and Analysis: Provide training to end-users on data literacy, dashboard usage, and self-service analytics capabilities. Generate regular and ad hoc reports, visualizations, and presentations for firm leadership and clients. Detect trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic planning initiatives. Collaborate with Accounting, IT, and other departments to implement successful data projects. Technical Expertise: Translate business requirements into data analytic challenges and develop effective solutions. Design data preparation processes and apply suitable analytic methodologies. Employ advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and natural language processing as needed. Conduct thorough explanatory data analyses and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in additional projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field is preferred. Juris Doctor or Master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or engineering is a plus. Experience: 5+ years of experience in a law firm or legal operations environment. Minimum of 2 years in a data analytics role. Preferred: Lean, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts effectively. Proven leadership and team management experience. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere. Capacity to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships and advocate for departmental needs. Skill in establishing effective structures where necessary. Strong analytical and business analysis capabilities to approach information systematically. Experience with enterprise data visualization tools (e.g., MS Power BI, Tableau) and a solid understanding of data design best practices. Background in advanced analytics and data science techniques. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is based in an office environment that requires the use of standard office equipment. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing necessary. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds; primarily sedentary work.
