Job Description Role: As a Lead Software Engineer focusing on the evaluation of Autonomous Vehicles within our Simulation and Testing group, you will be instrumental in defining the strategy and execution of simulation-based validation for cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology. Your expertise in developing advanced verification methods will be pivotal in enhancing rapid prototyping and fostering collaborative team efforts to drive our initiatives forward with increased reliability and efficiency. You will lead the charge in establishing best practices and driving innovation, significantly elevating the safety and performance testing of autonomous systems in intricate simulated environments. Your contributions will be vital in refining our simulation capabilities and robust validation approaches to meet the needs of AI developers, systems engineering, and safety compliance. About the Organization: The Simulation and Testing organization is dedicated to advancing autonomous vehicle technology through innovative simulation techniques. Our Systems Engineering team excels in improving software deployment and continuous release strategies by utilizing cutting-edge simulation verification and validation methods, prototypes, and protocols. We foster a collaborative environment that promotes creativity and excellence, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in autonomous vehicle testing. What You'll Do: Develop and refine strategies to benchmark the performance of autonomous systems. Create simulation evaluation methodologies that facilitate decision-making during continuous release cycles. Establish requirements and metrics to validate the safe and comfortable operation of Autonomous Vehicles. Analyze driving behaviors to enhance system performance and support the development of the autonomy stack. Mentor team members and promote cross-team collaboration to establish simulation confidence metrics for new projects. Your Skills & Abilities: Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields. Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering, robotics, or data analysis. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and C++ for managing and analyzing large data sets. Strong analytical skills to interpret data and extract valuable insights. Excellent communication skills, able to engage in both high-level strategic discussions and detailed technical conversations. What Will Give You A Competitive Edge: Experience in validating AI models, robotics, or autonomous vehicle technologies. Background in data engineering, including familiarity with ETL tools. Proficiency in developing data visualizations using platforms like Looker or Jupyter notebooks. Proven experience in systems engineering for safety-critical products, including knowledge of requirements management applications. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $253,200, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. An incentive pay program is also available depending on company and individual performance. Remote: This role is remote; however, if you live within 50 miles of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford, or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location at least three times a week.
