Your Role We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Architect to lead the strategic technical vision and architecture of our cloud platform, emphasizing scalability, elasticity, and resilience. This position presents a unique chance to establish technical authority, drive innovation, and shape technology decisions across the organization, ensuring our platform meets the evolving demands of our products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate profound expertise in cloud elasticity patterns, multi-cloud functionalities, and modern infrastructure architectures, as well as a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, including the strengths and limitations of public cloud providers, managed services, and open-source technologies. This role merges expertise in distributed systems with a comprehensive understanding of cloud performance characteristics relating to storage, networking, I/O, and compute resource dynamics. Key Responsibilities Design and enhance the architectural framework for a highly elastic, self-optimizing cloud platform. Establish systems that facilitate real-time autoscaling, predictive scaling, capacity forecasting, and cost-effective elasticity. Keep a robust understanding of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and relevant industry tools, including their performance attributes, constraints, and future advancements. Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and open-source initiatives, identifying potential opportunities and gaps concerning our objectives. Shape long-term engineering strategies, partnering with product, operations, and security teams to align architectural decisions with business objectives. Support senior technical leaders and engineering teams; promote engineering excellence and establish best practices for scalable cloud architecture. Set standards for distributed systems to enhance workload placement, resource utilization, reliability, and failure recovery. Focus on cost-efficiency by designing elasticity methods that minimize waste while ensuring performance and customer satisfaction. Lead the creation of reference implementations, proofs of concept, and performance assessments to validate design choices. Investigate platform constraints and work with teams to develop alternatives or solutions. Define standards, protocols, and tools to ensure that elasticity features are observable, testable, and production-ready. Your Team You will work closely with Product Management and platform operations teams to ensure scalable capabilities are seamlessly integrated into deployment pipelines and monitoring systems. Qualifications 10+ years in large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering. Proven experience in architecting high-scale, elastic, multi-region, or multi-cloud environments. Deep knowledge of cloud provider elasticity foundations, orchestration systems (Kubernetes, serverless, autoscalers), and modern infrastructure technologies. Your Contributions Experience with hybrid or edge-cloud architectures. Active participation in open-source cloud infrastructure projects. Prior experience as a Distinguished Engineer or Principal Engineer in a large-scale cloud-native environment. Why Join Us? Starting pay will vary based on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience.
