We are seeking a Vice President of Registration to support our client in their new office in Miami, FL. Please see below for the job description and desired qualifications; General Description: The Deputy Chief Registrar assists General Manager and Chief Registrar in coordinating and supervising Registration, Mortgage and Deletion department activities. Directs and monitors performance of the New York staff to ensure effective and proficient performance of assigned functions and duties. Ensure high-level of customer service and support. The position acts as the General Manager's backup; but also holds decision-making responsibilities as it relates to Registration, Mortgage and Deletion department activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Complete knowledge of our client's Maritime Laws, Maritime Regulations and Requirements Complete knowledge of registration, mortgage and deletion procedures Implements vessel registration, mortgage recording and vessel cancellation procedures compliant with our Maritime Law, Maritime Regulations and registration rules and requirements Analyzes current procedures and propose changes to enhance efficiency of our services Manages and supervises all NY managers and staff members; ensures adequate resources are available for efficient operation Oversees workload of NY staff Coordinates with registration, mortgage and deletion managers day-to-day activities in regard to vessel registration, vessel cancellation and mortgage recordation Coordinates with VA based managers staff matters affecting vessel registration, cancellation and mortgage recordation Coordinates cooperation between NYO and RO managers and staff on matters affecting vessel registration, cancellation and mortgage recordation Coordinates preparation for closings and closing activities to ensure timely and effective service Ensures accurate recordkeeping Supervises information posted on our website pertaining to registration procedures Supervises implementation of ISO standards as applicable to operation of NYO Trains registration, mortgage and deletion managers and staff in NYO and RO as appropriate Attends NY area public meetings or other forums as appropriate and upon request Perform other duties and projects as required General Qualification Guidelines: Confidentiality is critical to this position Experience, Education and Certification Maritime industry professional or a law school graduate Experience with registry laws, regulations and procedures Experience in managing team of people preferable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General understanding of shipping business and international maritime law Ability to work efficiently in high pace environment, prioritize work and meet deadlines Highly organized and detail oriented Well developed managerial, interpersonal and communication skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office application and use of General office equipment Availability to work outside regular business hours (nights, holidays and weekends)
