Project Specialist ID: NPSNCA-004-011 Location: Washington Program: NPS Wage/Hr: $60.00 Hours/Week: 24 Minimum Age: 55 For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions. This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States. Qualifications: Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Compliance. OR BA/BS Degree in Landscape Architect, Architect, General Engineer with minimum additional experience of 20 year(s) OR Previously completed training in Architecture, Engineering, or compliance Knowledge of managing construction contracts, AE services Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Duties: Serves as a Project Specialist in the Design and Construction branch of the Facilities Design and Construction Directorate within National Capital Region. The projects assigned will range from conventional to complex projects. Reviews preliminary design, and final design, and construction documents (drawings, specifications, special studies/reports) for constructability and compliance. 35% Conducts project briefings, including regional work sessions and the Burea Investment Review Board and district review boards. Accurately drafts responses to congressional inquiries and other information requests in a timely manner and in coordination with other FDC team members 25% Serves as a resource of technical expertise for the park and regional staff. Within their area of expertise, the incumbent answers questions, creates and provides training, and provides AE support for parks and colleagues within the region. 25% Serves as the point of overall technical and administrative responsibility, accountability, and authority for ensuring that the NPS project is completed as negotiated with the NPS Park or Regional office or with other partnering agencies or by A/E contract. On major, highly complex, multi-phased projects, enrollee may be assigned as Assistant PM to a senior manager. 15% Other: Required Certifications: n/a Air travel anticipated: Occasionally Physical requirements: Work will primarily occur in an office setting, but may require travel to park sites including short hikes on uneven terrain and/or visiting construction sites.
