Job Description

A contract opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school located near Syracuse, NY. This position primarily serves elementary students, with some high school students included, running from September through June. Role Overview: The SLP will manage a caseload of approximately 28 students, providing assessment, individualized therapy, and collaborating with educators and families to support speech and language development. The role involves working closely with school staff to foster an inclusive environment that promotes student success. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized therapy plans Provide direct, tailored therapy services to support each student's unique needs Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement accommodations and modifications Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly Participate actively in IEP meetings to contribute to goal setting and planning Offer guidance and support to parents and caregivers regarding speech and language development Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure Experience working with school-aged children preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of IEP processes and relevant educational laws Schedule and Benefits: Position follows the school calendar, with hours and vacations aligned to the academic year Guaranteed work hours Competitive hourly pay between $48 and $58 Eligible candidates may receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals or incidentals This role provides the chance to work in a supportive school setting in Upstate New York, contributing positively to the lives of students.
