This role offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN) within a dynamic float pool setting, supporting various departments and patient needs. General Summary The RN delivers patient-centered care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise relevant to the assigned practice area, while upholding the highest ethical standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment. Maintain central lines and implement measures to prevent surgical site infections according to policy. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families to promote health outcomes. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and inform the healthcare team. Document all care activities and quality metrics to support clinical decisions and compliance. Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to optimize patient outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to improve their healthcare experience. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to enhance skills. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Experience At least one year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Certification and Licensure Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure. Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
